Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon is out this time next month, and in typically iron-clad FromSoftware fashion, we know shockingly little about it. This is a welcome reprieve in a year in which nothing is seemingly sacred, and everything leaks in advance.
That said, in what is technically not a leak, pictures of the game box taken in Japanese storefronts emerged on Reddit over the weekend. They suggest that Fires of Rubicon's PvP multiplayer will support 2-6 players, with space for three spectators.
FromSoftware has previously confirmed that the game won't feature cooperative gameplay, a rarity for the developer, with 2019's Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice one of few other examples outside the series. No mainline Armored Core game has ever featured co-op, in fact, being strictly PvP in mindset. The original 1997 PS1 classic featured split-screen versus, or via the PlayStation Link Cable if you were fancy.

I hope everyone waiting for this game will enjoy it! I'm not a big mech or PvP fan, so I'll pass on this one.
"Support 2-6 players with space for 3 spectators."
Since this is a FromSoftware game, people will get killed even as spectators.
Not a fan of mechs or AC type games in general (I think ZoE was the closest I ever came to completing one), but I know fans were waiting for this for ages.
So I hope it’s great!
FromSoftware games are always the ones to get me to renew my PlayStation+ account… Let’s smash our mechs together people!
@Nalodart oh ZOE how i miss that game. If I recall it's in Kojinami hell
@number1024 Loool that's where it's from. I wondered why over the years the word "Metatron" suddenly pops in my head. Damn, that game had a deeper influence than I realised. Yea I never played fist of mars so did not know what happened in between and Mc becoming a rebel ace pilot was random af but I just accepted it. My fingers still remember the thrill of those insane boss battles and not being able to blink in case I miss my chance to dodge an attack. It would be great if the series got a remake as the IP hasn't been touched in a while now. I even recall buying the feature animation film on dvd which was a completely different set of characters. Where's the internet petition mob when you need them?
@number1024 Wasting their efforts again. Someone needs to send a Karen to their manager.
